A REPREHENSIBLE BEHAVIOUR

Although the FIWC Ruling Council is a meeting which delegates from the Federation’s member clubs are entitled to attend, the presence of other individuals – who, whilst not formally authorized, are interested in the breed – has always been welcome. The minutes of the meetings have always been circulated amongst the club delegates and subsequently published on the website www.fiwc.club. This is testament to the utmost transparency that has always guided the work of the FIWC board.

In recent days, I have received a 16-page document that is circulating clandestinely on the web, which purports to be the minutes of part of the meeting held in Bologna on 4 June. The person appointed to take the minutes, by unanimous decision of those present, is Beate Taschner, who will produce a draft of the document shortly. To facilitate her task, Beate requested authorization to make a recording, which was granted. However, the 16-page document currently circulating was not produced by Beate and therefore does not in any way represent the minutes of the meeting.

It is clear, however, that one of those present took it upon themselves, without informing the others or even seeking authorization, to record part of the meeting.  The 16-page document was clearly drafted using transcription software that uses artificial intelligence, with subsequent adjustments, which shows that recording the conversation was not a spur-of-the-moment decision, but a planned one. It contains the first names and surnames of the participants (or at least parts of them). I think its purpose is obvious. Allow me to express some doubts about the final outcome of this whole operation, given that not even my own surname is spelt correctly.

I am writing to remind (as I’m sure they are already aware) the person who made the recording that their behavior has breached the GDPR 2016/679. But beyond the legal aspects, they have committed a despicable act behind the backs of the many people present in that room, whose trust in the sincerity and loyalty of the community’s members has been betrayed. I therefore hope that they will at least feel ashamed of this. I do not believe this person will ever apologize, but I hope they decide to stop participating in this community, which has loyalty, transparency and respect for the rules as its founding and indispensable values.
